1.Drink Plenty Of Water
Make sure that you are always drinking plenty of water. I know this sounds very easy and should be easy knowledge. You would actually be very surprised at the number of cases of chronic constipation where the patient was in there because of dehydration. So make sure that you are getting the recommended 7-8 glasses of that sweet sweet water daily. Otherwise, you could end up in that hospital room again. You may want to think about getting yourself the best whole house water filter so your water can be clean and healthy for a smooth bowel movement. 2. Exercise
Movement of your body play's a large role when learning how to treat chronic constipation. When your body moves, so do your bowels. So when you get the chance I suggest you write out a work out schedule. Even if you are only going to a long walk or a light jog. 30 minutes a day of any type of exercise is absolutely perfect. Keep in mind you can go for more than 30 minutes if you please but this is just the minimum.
3. Eat healthily
This seems simple but it's really not, do you eat a lot of cheese? Do you eat a lot of fatty foods or greasy foods? Well, this might be why you are blocked up. When I first taught myself how to treat chronic constipation I had this problem. I was eating way too much dairy products and not enough fiber.
